President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has used the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration to call on Nigerians to pray for bandits and terrorists to abandon violence, while assuring citizens that his administration will ultimately defeat all forces of insecurity in the country.

In his Sallah message, the President extended warm greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and worldwide, describing the Festival of Sacrifice as a timely reminder of faith, obedience, and selflessness as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim. Tinubu acknowledged that despite ongoing military operations, including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, attacks on some communities persist. “You are neither abandoned nor forgotten,” he assured affected Nigerians, adding that criminals must either rethink their ways or face the full weight of the law. On the economy, Tinubu struck an optimistic tone, declaring that three years of difficult reforms have positioned Nigeria as a growing investment destination. “The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” he said, urging citizens to embrace unity and compassion as the nation continues its journey of rebuilding.
